I handcraft my jewelry from vintage materials, plastic charms and pendants I make individually by hand, and other pretty things. I'm interested in the stories certain objects tell, and I think a lot about narrative in my work. This is true whether I am assembling a layered charm necklace to form storylike tableaus, selecting a cameo whose history goes back to a Cold War factory in West Germany, or admiring the curious and beautiful drawings made by the 19th C. naturalists who surveyed the birds of North America that are the inspiration for a series of pendants I'm making.
